4 Reasons Universities Don’t Use Org Dev & Why They Now Should

I just did a post over at examining the dearth of usage of OD or organizational development at colleges and universities & the article gave 4 reasons for the lack of usage:

  1. University life has been stable for a long time.
  2. The university has been viewed as an assembly of experts.
  3. Faculty members would resist OD methods if they were introduced.
  4. Universities are not led and managed, they are administered and governed.

Given the challenges that universities and faculty now face, maybe it’s time to examine whether OD might actually help universities reinvent themselves as so many are currently trying to do.  Read the full post here.
