Twitter Chat – Six Minds of the Whole New Engineer – Wed, 16 April, 8pm Eastern #BigBeacon
Join me, Dave Goldberg, as I host a twitter chat on Wednesday evening, 16 April 2014, at 8pm Eastern (hashtag #BigBeacon) with the theme, The Six Minds of the Whole New Engineer. The Big Beacon manifesto (here in English, here in French) calls for A Whole New Engineer, A Whole New Engineering Education, and Educational Rewire (a new process of educational and organizational change).
The forthcoming book, A Whole New Engineer: A Surprising Emotional Charge elaborates on these three elements of the manifesto. Chapter 4, The Whole New Engineer – Engaging Hearts, Minds & Hands, considers the 6 Minds of the Whole New Engineer as follows:
- Analytical mind
- Design mind
- People mind
- Body mind
- Linguistic mind
- Mindful mind
The twitter chat ask participants to reflect on the six minds, consider which are prepared adequately in a traditional engineering education, and which require additional preparation. What is analytical mind, design mind, people mind, body mind, linguistic mind, and mindful mind? In what ways does a traditional engineering education prepare a graduate in each mind? Which minds are most important in day to day work as an engineer?
Join us for the weekly #BigBeacon Twitter chat at 8:00 pm EST on April 16, 2014 to answer these questions & more.
